In case you didn't notice, the moon was very bright and beautiful over the past few nights. Finally the haze broke in my area of the country so I could shoot it last night. It was my first time shooting the moon.

My best:

My personal favorite:

Anyone care to comment?
Thanks! :hug::

I got a pic last night too. This was the actual color of it. It was almost a blood red when it was at the tree line.

Nice. I got out at 11:00-ish and ours was clear white. It was bright enough to cast moon shadows over everything. It was awesome.

What was your setup?

This was mine:

I used the 5D Mark ii with the 100-400mm lens. Had it set to 365mm. Then cropped in to just the moon. Had it on a tripod with a shutter release.

Yep, you win!

I am still happy with the way mine turned out though, for a first time.

The camera set up was on auto WB, f/8, .5 sec exposure. I had it set to aperture priority and spot meetering. ISO was 100

I believe I was at 1/400 exposure, but don't quote me on that.

I keep missing the full moon.... But I took this a month or two ago.

It was shot with an Olympus E-PL1 with an adapted Takumar 500mm f/4.5 lens.

This was shot years ago with my Canon 10D + 100-400L

The "reflection" that was caught in the picture wasn't visible with the naked eye... kinda took me by surprise.

^way to go! Put us all to shame!

Nice pic.
