What's new

Some advice needed, does my picture need edited in any way to go on a canvas?

You have to take in account for the edge being wrapped around the frame. Here is some information from Bay Photo which is the pro lab used by SmugMug.

You will also want to match your image with your labs ICC color profile.

Does it not look OOF to anyone else?

@kundalini Thanks loads for that link, the table at the bottom of the page will be hugely useful.

@eric-holmes Please elaborate, i'm unfamiliar with the abbreviation "OOF". But thanks for your input.

Cheers

OOF = Out Of Focus

I don't know if it actually is OOF, or if it's just a general lack of sharpness...

well.. you cant expect much from a cell phone photo.

got the higher resolution.. oh my.. lots of chromatic aberration! You can see on the OP, the dark lines on the hill are slightly purple or red. I guess if this means a lot, go ahead and print it when I edit it ;).

@lionsroar and @kundalini Thanks for the info.

@Schwettylens When your done, my other half is going to print it onto some high quality photo paper that she got with her new printer, and then, most likely send it off to be put to canvas.

May I add that i wont be able to respond from now on as i'm going to have to get some sleep as its 23.47 here in the UK and i start work in a little over 6 hours time, but all your input and help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks again

David

P.S @Schwettylens Please don't let my picture detract from your home activities, when your finished work. I wouldn't feel to great about a guy sorting my photo when he could be doing something more meaningful to him :thumbup: Thanks man.

Very Nice. Tell us what you did.

First I edit the original. Made the resolution bigger to make sure his printing place wont reject the file. Then I masked the sky, reduce the exposure so its not so blown. A lot of the cloud is still blown but still look a lot better. Then I invert select the sky so it will select the other picture only without the sky and I adjusted the exposure there. Save it then I opened it on Lightroom and created 2 version of black and white. I added clarity, black and fill light.
