Photos NOT OK to edit
Just went out last night and today to take a few images documenting my current location (yes, i can walk again :) ).

I know some are probably too dark, but I cannot really judge it with my current laptop screen.

1: Luleå tekniska universitet (one of those windows is my office ;) )

Awesome, how did you get it so wide, what kind of lens did you use? Or did you take a bunch side-by-side and put them together in photoshop?

Alex - great to see these glimpses of life way up there in Sweden. #3 is my fave...love the gaff-hook in the foreground (looks like a whaling implement of some sort), the tiny houses, the old church in the background

Nederluleå Gammelstad looks good in the light of the midsummer sun, and I like all three photos here, with the first and third of those being best. The third whispers "HDR" to me, to I hear right? Or what gives me that feeling?

And I like the view across the mosquito-infested Land Of The Elks. :D Looks more peaceful as a photograph (which sports a lot of green! :lovey: ) than I assume it is "in person" :D.

You went up there FOR WORK!?!?!?
Sore and bruised as you are???

number 6 was actually taken at around 50mm .. it is just a wide crop ;)

Some of the others were taken at 24mm ... in terms of field of view that corresponds to 15mm for APS-C digital sensors.

The lens for all of these was a 24-105mm f/4 L.

thanks :)

might post last nights sunset later today :) (Sunset at 11:30 pm that is)

Since the contrast between foreground and background was so extreme, I brightened up the foreground a bit. It is not a HDR in a sense of combining several images of different exposure though.

2 minutes after taking that image I spotted a red deer and two hours later a female elk, both dissappeared too quickly though to get any picture.

As for the moskitos ... I count 30 extra bites now from 30 minutes walk through the wood ;)

Yes, for work ;) Most of the images were taken this weekend though ;)

#8 was taken Saturday afternoon after having lunch at my colleagues/hosts place (he lives in a tiny village where you have to do a lot of walking to find your neighbours ;) )

Shots are very nice.....somewhat stark and flat land.

Cold????

you get more hills and proper mountains if you go inland from here. actually swedens highest mountain is not far to the northwest of here.

not cold at all at the moment, the last days we had over 26 degC in daytime and very intense sun, today it dropped to below 18 and some rain though.

Been sweating alot already !

I like these Alex... What do you do for a living... You seem to be able to travel alot for your job. Sounds like it's something that you like as well.

Thanks!

Science does it all for me ;) :)

Yes, I also like to travel!

And it seems like you healed well too from the accident, good to see you're back on your feet!

Sweet! I've only been to Luleå once and it was in the middle of the winter. COLD.

It is rather Mosquito-infested at the moment ... but very nice and after the showers this afternoon rather warm again!

oh, any plans for midsummer? ;)
