I did a free shoot today for a family whos mother has stage 4 cancer, it is colon cancer that spread to her lungs and lymph nodes . It touched my heart because my husbands father nearly died from colon cancer. They are such an amazing family with such hope and spirit. She is in serious need of moral support, if you can like this Facebook page (not promoting anything) it would mean so much to someone who feels like she is so little in such a big world.

Thank you.

On a technical point, I know my backdrop sucks, wb is off, I blew the whites, probably exposure and composition. I am in the middle of building my studio, ie taking over my husbands garage haha, and I had to shoot this in my VERY tiny living room.

Not many of us cannot be affected by the "C" word. Sending white energy your friends way.

Thank you so much :hug::

well, since you already critiqued your shots, let me give you a little hint. On #2 you stuck them in a corner. Try putting them BY the corner using one wall as a backdrop and the other wall as a reflector.

My prayers go out to the family. It was a nice thing you did for them.

Re. photo number 3: It's never a good look to strangle a cancer victim, as far as I'm aware.

That's just my wrinkly backdrop.. I need a new one!

#2 is a wrinkle? I also thought it was the corner of the room. None the less, some good shots, and I really like #4.

My mom had colon cancer, luckily they got it early.

Kudos to you for doing the shoot, I love stuff like this!

I can tell you were in close quarters with your 50mm. Judging by your aperture you must have been using off camera flash, no? Did you take any shots with your kit lens? That may have been the route that I took in this scenario. I enjoy the IQ of my 50mm stopped down, but sometimes you just need the versatility of a wider zoom lens while indoors. Yahfeelin'meh? You did a nice thing though, no doubt about that. Kudos. :thumbup:

I think they are great! Thanks for sharing. Thoughts are with the family..

Thanks :) Yeah, I love the IQ of my 50mm too, thats why I used it, although my kit lens is pretty good too. I did use it for a couple shots. I used two strobes with soft boxes :)

You don't need a new backdrop you need lighting

Did you have one on each side because the lighting looks flat?

Thanks for sharing. Cancer is never an easy thing for anyone--I lost my godfather two years ago to it, and to capture the feeling of love and support is really a great way of helping out. These shots really capture the emotions very well. You did a great job :)
