No tripod was allowed and I don't have macro lens, so there are lots of macro opportunities that I could not take advantage of. Still managed to get some decent ones.
This is more of a show and tell, but feel to offer feed backs.

I quite like 3, the cactus photo!
And the first seems to pulsate, at least to my eyes. Very interesting.

I like the dark shadow in the upper right of #1 bloom. The texture of the petals is washed out by the sun hitting the lower left yellow, but it is a nice contrast to the texture seen in the other petals, upper right.

The cactus is my favorite. I like the sharp focus of the center.

Nice job with the Capitol in the background. With it out of focus, I think it helps keep the main subject as the flower, but knowing the setting adds to the image.

Why do you like # 2? I am not sure of it, but those are unique flowers.

I wonder if you tried a slightly lower angle of # 3. I wonder if you could make the miniature scene look more like a large forest of trees? Interesting lighting.

I like no.2 because it has a distinct but gradual sense of space. For most of the other shots, it's either foreground or background, or that everything pretty much occupies a relatively shallow plane. #2 has the flowers in different degree of focus leading from foreground into the background. The contrast between the bright yellow and the dark green background also helps it pop.

I did try to resurrect the texture on the pedals in #1 but it wasn't working too well.
