Hope all is well!

Very nice Jay! Went to your blog and offcourse the compression here doesn't do you work justice

Thanks!

I tried to get around the compression by hosting it from the blog, appears the forum is smarter than I lol.

But thank you!

Wow. Thanks for sharing these. FYI your "workshops" link in your sig seems broken.

Thanks for the link catch! When you're old like me, a . and , are just about the same lol

Annnnnd fixed lol.

The photography looks great, however her poses look forced...

Is she a model or friend?

To be honest i don't mind the faces they seem fine to me, lighting is very well done as her legs turned out just wow!

Hello friends,

Thanks for the comments!

She's a friend because we shot, but she's a young lady wanting to start her portfolio. We went with fashion poses and I don't see how any of them look forced. They aren't typical general portrait poses so that may be where the breakdown is? She's a new, new, new model, so she was down for whatever I told her to do.

@Davor: I struggled with the legs. She's very muscular by nature as she's a dancer and works with free weights. Her direct quote is "Anyone who doesn't work with free weights is a *****" So I wanted to include that into the photos as working out is very important, but I didn't want to focus on it for the fact she has a lot of muscle popping images in her book, I just went with the flow on these. Put her in fashion poses and rode with the wind.

Thanks again guys! Lighting was simple one light up high.

I like them pretty good, I like her poses. The angle is a bit "head-on" and I suspect makes her look wider than she is though. Nice processing, lighting is a bit flat on the top left one...

I am going to throw something else in the mix ... I don't like the grey boulder. I think the boulder spoils the backdrop and perhaps the model's pose would have been more natural had she not been using the boulder as an uncomfortable looking prop. What I do like though, is the lighting and these shots look really sharp on my screen
