A little bit (alot) of contrast would help these images pop. Also, (if you photoshop) I would try saturating the desaturated image, and a little sharpening maybe (if thats your taste?) These shots have great potential. You could do so much with these pictures in terms of exposure/levels that would give some really interesting effects.
