I'm toally new to the whole photography thing so I like to get some tips about what could be improved.

1st pic: way over exposed. Focus is soft, and there is lens flare.
Pic #2 would have been much better in the traditional landscape format. Nice saturated colors, and the reflection really adds to the color transition.
Pic #3 & 4, are really very well done. Both have a strong, tightly comosed central theme, both used selective DOF, and a limited color pallet to help define the subject. If I had to choose between the two, it would be #3 over #4, but that's my personal opinion. Over all Pics #3 & 4 are winners, especially for a new photographer. Well done and welcome to TPF.

#3 (the red one) is the only one to me that has any sort of interesting composition to it. I like the tonal range from one side to the other where it's almost a sunlit gradiant.
