What's new

Some new photos posted in gallery, here are a few for C&C Please!

I tried all of my settings and they didn't do much better with the buffalo but worked with some of the other animals.

Not having a true DSLR and only having a Bridge camera will limit what you can and can not do. If only the buffalo had been in full shade, you would have been golden.

Thank you everyone for your remarks and help. That is why I am trying to shoot some animal photos so I can expand my specialty to other things besides FD. photos. It takes a lot of practice to get good at shooting things. I used the FujiFilm FinePix S1500 for these photos that I have posted here and in my gallery. I use this one more often due to the zoom. Big news: I changed my setting to OKAY TO EDIT! Have a ball.

Sorry about that for #1. That is the bobcat exibit. In order to shoot photos of the bobcats, lions, or bears you must shoot through the glass windows. Sorry again about that.
I have taken photos at the top of the Seoul Tower in (South) Korea. These are through windows too. I'll try to post an example, but if you get your camera right to the glass you'll often get perfectly useable shots as long as you find a clean spot. Without the cats, this picture is pretty much lifeless I'm afraid

None of the other settings will help if all the other settings are the same. Does your camera have spot metering because that would have worked. Or you could have slightly underexposed the photo do the highlights weren't blown then you could bring up the exposure a little in post if needed.

I tried editing the bison picture but the recovery slider in camera raw wouldn't touch the blown out areas on the back. :(

This was taken in Vegas, through the dirty ass hotel window.....

I have some photos that I will be posting tomarrow that show how a little of how I was shooting throught the glass since it actually shows the window with frame and the bobcat inside laying down.

Thank you MTVision. I tried my photo program and it wouldn't even work to get rid of the blow out on the back. I do have some other photos of the bison up on a hillside that turned out nicer than this one, however, this is the first time our park ever had an albino bison so that is why I though I would photograph it. Plus the park kind of has some history connected to my family.

Nice Shot mrpink! I have some storm photos too from this summer. One storm went severe in the area and I went out spotting and decided to take some photos of the storm system. Funny thing about that storm that day, as soon as I got in my truck to go, the FD called me to activate me for spotting.

I would've liked to see #2 shot from closer to the ground at eye level with the bison.

Good luck with your photos :)

Thank you, I was actually thinking about that when I was taking the photos of the bison. I will try that next time.
