First impressions are the most critical in an assessment.
My first thought of all three was impressive.
The geometry of #2 seems to lack a focal point, perhaps the statue face would be better with rule of thirds applied.
First and third are nicely executed. Both worthy of print and frame.
Beginners luck? Not likely, the contrast and 'texture' too good to be accidental.

I quite like no2. It has a nice lead in from the bottom left and the different textures, patterns and focus are all quite pleasing. Nice light too. Also like no1 - nice composition and lighting. Not too keen on no3 - it doesnt really do much to me.

Very good shots though.

thanks I know I have a lot to learn, will upload more, I am leaning more towards Monochrome and hope to learn quickly to operate my Mamiya RB67 soon, but for now I am just sticking with the point and shoot to get better at composition and framing

Thanks all!
