well with that in mind i have a 20mm 2.8, 35-70 2.8 and am going to test the new 24-120 that nikon is coming out with this fall.

I will be taking others but for walking around the city i don't want to be changing lens.

U may try the 35mm lens, like a 35L(or its less expensive sibling 35/2). 35mm is classical in documentry photographing.

i tend to use the 35-70 a lot, an old but goodie for sure and makes sense for city life.
