I lied. That guy is Jasin Todd from Shinedown. He's kind of hilarious. He was also a judge at this battle of the bands I was shooting.

The guy on the left is Chad Lee. Close with Dimebag Darrell and shot (and still shoots) a bunch of the huge metal bands. It was his benefit that I was shooting. "Ride for Dime" is what it's called.

JZ is a Grammy winner. He played keyboards on a Kanye album, haha. He's also ridiculously good at making various sound FX with nothing but his mouth, and he's eerily good at quick little magic tricks, haha. He keeps me entertained.

Mark was on Conan O'Brien for writing a song in response to Conan's accidental creation of "www.hornymanatee.com" :lmao: He submitted the song, Conan loved it, and he flew Mark and his bandmate at the time out to perform it live on the show.

THE END!

Morning bump, since I posted this super late last night.

Thanks for looking :sillysmi:

I think that it's interesting that you can get such great shots of this style while others seem to struggle so hard. You must be doing something right ;)

Well done. To my eye, you've completely mastered this idiom. #22 strikes me as a little tightly framed, but I assume you know that and that you've kept it because it's such a charming picture of the fellow.

These are awesome! You captured a lot of passion and emotion in these shots! The drummer's face in the next to last photo is awesome lol. I'm taking photos at a Frank Turner show at the end of November, it'll be my first time shooting a show. I'd love some pointers if you're willing.

Yeah, I was shoved right up front for that one, and I think I had my 50mm prime on, so I wasn't able to zoom out, and stepping back would have resulted in my crashing into this very large dude right behind me. But your right, I couldn't bring myself to throw that one away because of his expression, so I took the trade off, haha.

Ditto!

Thank you

Don't be afraid of high ISO (you have a MarkIII so that shouldn't even be an issue), spot meter for faces, take your time and look for moments, and if you're musically inclined, then it should be fairly easy for you to anticipate when "something" is going to happen in accordance to where the music starts to build and the hits are about to happen. It's harder to predict that if you don't already know the music, but if you DO know the music... even better, haha. Although 100% of the shots I took above were never having heard any of their music before.

I don't use flash. I use a wide aperture, quick shutter speed, and high ISO. I shoot on Manual, because especially if there is a lighting engineer, the lights change all the time and will confuse the hell out of Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority modes.

I dunno... if you have specific questions, feel free to ask. I'm bad at general advice, hahaha.

And, Hof, something I'm still working on, that my mentor constantly yells at me about is "Headroom! You have too much headroom!" :lmao: I blame that on the fact that I only use the center point to focus and don't always have time to recompose a live, moving subject... but you have MarkIII, and while I haven't used it, I heard the outer focus points of the MKIII are MUCH better than a MarkII.

I thought that everyone in Nashvegas was famous and could play and sing. Nice collection.

1. "Nashvegas", the word, makes me want to punch babies. I don't know why I despise it so much, but I do.

2. Everyone CAN play and sing... just not everyone is famous. :lmao:

3. Thank you

lol, I didn't realize that one word could cause such strong emotions (thought you needed a picture to do that ;) ). Please note the sarcasm I ment when saying that word. I play and sing too, but only subject my family to the singing.

Please refrain from punching any babies, I'll gladly stand in their place since I caused it.

Well done Rose!

Well you already went and did what I DID tell you to do... so I figured the opposite could hold true as well. :sexywink: :lmao:

Thanks! :sillysmi: :hug::
