Turtle's pretty cool. The quality of the image looks pretty high.

I'd never seen a lizzard fish until this very post. The goliath grouper is an interesting fish; I've been seeing it fished for lately on TV by guides specializing in targeting just the grouper that live near piers and bridges and other structure in Florida, using massive tackle, lines, and hooks and very quickly subduing those huge fish. What kind of underwater equipment are you using? Is it your own gear? rental gear? The images appear to be high-quality digital files.

thanks:)

I have a sealife DC500 camera with 1 external strobe. It's a 5mp point and shoot camera in an underwater case. Unfortunately, it has no manual controls, so I am pretty limited in what I can do, but I have been thinking about upgrading lately. Thanks for the interest and the compliments!

Very nice! It's always impressive the quality you can get out of that little sealife PS! I'm jealous of your turtle shot, very nice! Your WB is a little off. Did you manually WB before? How deep were you? I find that it's always a nice idea to WB even with a external flash. That way the background is balanced too. You just got to keep doing it every 5-10 feet depth change. The grouper is pretty cool! How big was he? I wish I was down south, not by the side of a half frozen lake...

I actually white balanced the subjects in post. Unfortunately, the subject and the background are obviously different white balances, so I balanced to what I thought looked the best. I guess every eye is different!

That grouper was probably a 5 footer. I've seen some that were over 7 feet, but the big ones are pretty rare.

Nice to see a fellow diver on the boards!

I like both of the turtle shots. The first really shows the enviornment the second details the turtle. Next time I go home on leave I'm going diving (haven't been in almost 10 years). Thanks for the motivation.

awesome pictures, I am also interest in underwater photography, maybe soon enough i be able to get my own gear.
