They're underexposed and would benefit from different composition.

The first would be better if you included more of the horse's head.

The second is with a great back light, which means a great potential. It's underexposed and cold. The background and that sky are distracting.
 
Thanks mmarie. I'm pretty new to this so I'll give it another go tomorrow. I'll try to work on my exposure and also try to work on the background as well. Thank you for your time to respond.
 
The second shot, with that kind of lighting you'll need to overexpose your subject.

I advice you to think about composition tomorrow. Pay attention to your background. Include more of the horse.
Maybe to try in the stable, where there are no much elements in their surroundings.

You have some really great subjects to practice with :)
