The second one is my favorite by far. It makes me want the first one to be in closer. I think it'd give it a more personal feel to it. Other than that I say they're great. : )
I hope you don't mind but here is my quick play on #1. I upped the exposure and darken the dark areas. then I cropped her in tighter and cloned out the post and the gazeebo in the back, then soften it up a bit.
I think your take on it is pretty good. I like how it's closer for sure but I don't like that the aspect ratio is different now. You can always tell when someone didn't get the shot straight out of the lens the way they wanted it with stuff like that. For me personally anyway it says that the shot must have been rushed or just not thought about enough. It looks a little too contrasty and saturated for my taste, too. I'm also seeing the whites in her face getting blown out and some loss of detail. But I won't go nuts here because I don't want to make this into a crit about your work more than the original artists. Really cool to see people taking their time out to help people. I already love the whole dynamic that the community of these forums have going on. You'll see me around these parts often for sure.
yeahh the cropped out gazeebo and colors look a lot better but the saturation does look a hair overdone, i love it a lot more than mine though mine looks dull i appreciate it!!!
