Ha..great imagination you have..Like I said photos look great...They do tell a story.. didn't you look at them? Once upon a time there was a pretty girl with a hoop in her nose. Her dad tried to pretend he was happy about it even though he really wasn't. So he went to the local coffee shop where a friendly slacker suggested maybe he should find a date for his daughter. If she found the right man he could convince her to take that silly ring out of her nose. Then the slacker even volunteered to date his daughter. The slackers boyfriend, however, was not amused. The end.
Having several of the face shots, alongside the art venue and its exhibit, could work as a type of photo-reportage about the art scene at this venue.
The tonality of these shots is very nice. I think the last shot is the best because of the intensity in the man's expression. The others are more casual. It appears as if you shot 1, 2, and 4 from above the subjects. That approach seemed to work the best in the last image. The first image is a bit awkwardly turned, as is #3.
Nice close ups..But candids should tell a story...
Sorry, I should have posted as candid portraits I guess.
Well, they are candid portraits, and nicely done! I've always been fond of candids, and I agree that some context might have helped overall.
