Some Still Life--Comments and Critiques?

Can anyone guess what these lines are? Or how it was shot?

At a guess I would say wither layers of paper or fine plastic sheeting in a dark environment with short focus flash. Either that or it was in bright condition and its been inverted?

Sheets of paper taped up with a flash about 3 feet below and 2 feet in front of them, focused using bits if cardboard.

I should use flash when I try it again this winter. I was always lazy and set things up near a window. =)

It was actually quite easy. I shot tethered to lightroom, and it really only took 10 or 15 test shots to get what I wanted. If I remember correctly, the flash was only at 1/32 or 1/16 power.
