its a Thai New Year. They keep splashing water for 5 days from late friday till Wed.
something like in the christian tradition of Ester

i like them, really captures the fun feeling of the event. You're brave for trusting your camera to a plastic bag!

They throw the water to wash away any bad luck from the previous year. When I was a kid my Mom would always make everyone take a bath/shower and trim their nails to get rid of bad luck on New Years.
