At 100% they just seem... soft? Bad? Argh! How do they look to you at this size? Here's a link to a 100% crop... I'm seeing some CA, but is that the only issue? What can I do to avoid the CA in the future? It's evident SOOC so I wouldn't think it would be my post work, but I guess it could be...

Focus problems, yes/yes?

All four were taken at F/8, 1/100, ISO200, 55mm and 3.5m subject distance.

Did I fudge them?

I looked at the full-sized crop, and yes, it does look like the focusing is decidedly off. At this very small web size, they look "okay", but still not "excellent". The top shot, #1, looks like it is a bit sharper than some of the others. Small, highly reduced images usually look decent on the web if some sharpening has been applied. And yes, there does appear to be some CA in the images from that lens. Not sure what kind of camera you have--do you have a Nikon with automatic, built-in chromatic aberration reduction for in-camera-created JPEG images? Or were these shot as RAW files? Many newer, better RAW conversion software programs have a CA reduction option that can reduce or eliminate many (but not all) CA issues.

It's a Canon T2i and these were RAW. I just tried cranking up the CA correction in Camera Raw and am not seeing much of a difference on anything but the worst of the series, unfortunately. Bummer! :( I'm really kicking myself for screwing these up- I thought they really had potential. Thanks for taking a look.

I wish I'd gone a little smaller than f/8 for this in addition to raising the shutter speed... I'd probably still have missed the darn focus but maybe it wouldn't have been quite so bad.
