Interesting stuff but I don't think these are optimally framed.
There is real confusion about what the center of interest should be and where the viewer's eye should go.

I really like the second image, but I have to admit that the dark portion at the bottom right tends to draw my eye away from the otherwise very neat bark patterns.

There are two heads hidden in these images - smth like a Spaniel in the first one and an alligator/monster in the second. If you look closely you will find it.
