Sourdough?

How many people here have done a sourdough starter? How many have done one from wild yeast? I was thinking about trying it out just for fun and was wondering if anyone had any tips?

My dad's been big on sourdough for the last few years. All I know is that he lets it rise for like 18 hrs (makes it the night before, rises overnight). It's pretty good, but takes a lot of time. He likes it because it's a kneedless dough. Sorry, but that's all I know 'bout it.
