Speed of Sound

Taken at Crater Lake, OR a few weeks ago.

This was a fun image and interesting project in post. If you want to picture what it was like to be there when I took this, imagine the deep rumble of thunder echoing from the faces of Crater Lake's sheer walls. You could see lightning strikes in the distance edge closer. Ominous clouds completely surround you. It was fun!

Thanks! The storms were about 20 miles away for the most part

The FG was kept darker/moody to bring more attention to the areas of the scene that are most interesting and naturally brighter. Thanks for your comment!

The photo was level'd in camera. not sure what would've been achieved by turning the camera more to the right. Feel free to elaborate.

Not sappy at all! I appreciate that. There are tons of photographers I look to for inspiration.
