Still Life with 105 2.8 Macro

My 1st try at close up still life

I'm not sure if these work for me. My eye bounces back and forth between the flower and the shadow. When I cover the shadow with my hand, I like what I see!

Here are a couple of photos without the shadows. I just thought the shadow was kinda interesting composition-wise...Thanks for your input..I get what you're saying.
