Still not sure what these two settings do on my N80

I have had the camera for quite sometime and have never used the focus area selector or the AF area selector. Not really sure what they do and yes I have the manual with me.

Err it should be quite obvious even without the manual. The select the area of the frame that the Autofocus works from...
