I like the lighting and I think you handled a tough lighting situation really well without losing detail in the shadows. Very nice.

For me, though, the statue itself is really unattractive... and not interestingly unattractive, just "I'm a statue maker and I'm really not bothering to put any effort into this" unattractive. The shot loses a lot because of it.

Statues are such a bugger for this because so many of them are just so blah.

I think the composition would be great on a more interesting subject.

True. I'd love to go into st. louis some time and take some pictures around there involving stuff like this...

however, gas prices and fear of being mugged for my camera have prevented me from doing this.
