Strange Sky

These were taken last week at the exact same time, looking in slightly different directions. The sky over the mountain definitely had a purplish cast. That is new snow that had been laid down on the mountain a couple of hours before.

These are not manipulated much, it really did look very different looking in each direction. I did emphasize slightly different colors in PS though.
I also processed these with Neat Image to reduce the noise. I think the cameras auto exposure went to a higher ISO due to the low light.

The bubbly clouds up above in the second picture are called mamatus clouds. Very cool...you don't see them a whole lot.

I like the first one the best as having the street scene in it gives you a good idea of the size of the mountains.
