You have to remember that anything you say is automatically discredited because you merely saw it happen - it didn't happen to you.

I have to assume that anyone smart enough to buy one can figure out how to hook it up... Or is it really that complicated that the "Average Joe" just can't figure it out?

#1. He never said it was a BlackRapid. It could have been some piece of junk from China that he got for $3 from eBay. Like he said, he didn't know.

#2. You sure like to assume a lot. I know it's such an inconceivable idea that ONE PERSON could accidentally not completely screw in a sling all the way or forget to tighten it after hours of use. But no, you just choose to assume that they're either a moron or their camera;s tripod mount happens to be the only one to fail.

I only say that MY personally-owned BlackRapid sling strap has never failed me, and I would more than gladly provide full photographic or videographic proof that it works as advertised. I never once made a remark about some random person that I saw at a mall, and I based my testimony only on the fact that I've owned a BR strap for quite some time and used it exclusively in the tripod mount with no failures. And if you can't accept my testimony, feel free to read any of the professional reviews of the well-acclaimed BlackRapid brand that make NO mention of failing tripod mounts.
