I have another that I actually like better.

The background glare from the street beyond fooled me entirely and these were way overexposed but redeemable

I find myself fascinated by the culture more then the photography it's self. My eye's are scanning the carrier (for lack of another word) old, rusty, then the expression of the child. Very interesting.

Well, look at it this way.
The picture itself isn't trying to do anything but show you the little boy and allow you to see him exactly as I did.
There's enough of the carrier to see what it is and in what kind of repair it is.
The tone of the picture is dark and gritty.
The little boy's expression is sort of unhappy.
There's enough detail so you can inspect everything and there's a hint of his surroundings without so much that let's your eyes wander off.

From my standpoint it's successful because it appears exactly how I saw it my mind's eye and I cropped and processed it to get that look.

Dark, getting graying in spots. You might be able to do a complete adjustment but you also might have to selectively burn them in photoshop.

Lew, Do you have any wider shots that shows what the child is riding in? Just curious

this is the original shot.
This looks like the front end of a pedicab; the back end is the rear wheel, the seat and the bicycle peddling mechanism of a bicycle

Thanks, a lot of tweaking went into getting the relative contrast and saturation to where I liked it.

I looked for a good example of a single passenger pedicab but could only find one that is configured to carry two passengers - one facing front, one back.

Thanks Lew, so it appears this is the equivalent of a baby stroller in this country? It just appeared to be built too heavy. Thanks for sharing.

I like the shot, but shooting from an adult height kills it for me. It's one one those things that I was taught a long time ago, shooting at the same level as the subject gives the image more impact.
