Stronger on photo: Canon 5d miii or Sony A7III?

Hi,

I am a Filmmaker and Photographer, using Canon for 8 years. I waited for the Mark iv, but it does not fulfill my expectations and therefore I have (almost) decided to switch to Sony (Canon is asleep for the last years!!).

I have a 5d miii (+70d to support). I do more film than photography and on that side I'm confident the A7iii will provide me with stronger options. However, most of the times I need to do film & photo and on that side I am very happy with the performance of the 5d miii.

I don't know how the Sony A7III performs in photography in comparison with the 5d. Any wise advise?

Hi Waday, on HD the highest rate of the Mark iv is just 60fps, while the Sony can do 120fps. Also, at 4k, the Canon has a crazy cropping factor of 1,74.
