Photos NOT OK to edit
the wifes new (old) Singer model 24 hand crank chain stitch machine. isn't she just beautiful?
only 2000 of these were made back in 1913. shes in pretty good shape for her age!
we are still doing some restoration work, but she sews just fine.

outside my normal zone...lighting wise anyway.
shot in all natural light.
decided to keep with the "darker/subdued" theme like the rest of my machine shots.

The light is hitting the machine in all the right places.

I love it!

since im on a roll with the natural light portraits...
Finally got around to editing this one.
another of the wifes old Singer hand crank machines.
its a Singer model 128, circa 1930.

shot in all natural light.

Yeah the light made its magic, like it very much.

Yeah the light made its magic, like it very much.

I was pleased with how they turned out, especially without my normal lighting accouterments.
whats even more magical however, is what my wife makes with her old vintage machines.

I don't even know how to sew (well, not in any way that could produce more than a child's halloween costume, where it only has to last one night), but I love these old machines, and the natural lighting on these is wonderful.

The only nitpick I've got is that on that second one, I wish it didn't have such a bright "granny smith apple" green thread on top. I like the thread being there, just wish it wasn't quite such a bright color, maybe something more fitting with the time period of the machine, a pale dusty rose, or something like that.

Like the rest of your sewing machine shots, I love it! Love the mood!

wonderful photos. But as for the machines themselves, model 24 is the real beauty to me. I love the gear housing, and the way the base of it is held up higher on the 24. Although I bet the higher base makes it more of a pain to use. :)

Well I want to see what she makes!:1219:

reshot the 128. changed the thread spool to a vintage wooden spool and a more neutral color for @sm4him .

shot in all natural light, no modifiers.

Ah, PERFECT! I liked it before; now I love it! Even has an old-timey wooden spool!
