stupid lens question

Ok, to make a short story long, here's my situation. I'm looking to grow in photography and had considered buying a cheap medium format. A friend who's an exceptional photographer (www.obscurius.org/sturner) recommended that I get a digital slr to hone my composition skills for a while first. With my currently limited expenses, I can barely afford to bracket most shots. A digital may pay for itself in the money it saves, but the initial investment is high. I thought about buying an older Canon digital body and using my old lenses. Question: will my old Canon lenses from my AE1 fit any new Canon digital?

Yes... you can buy an adaptor to fit EF lenses onto EOS bodies, however it will be manual focus and f-stop selection but it is possible.

Thanks for the (wicked fast) info! I was, of course, hoping for the certainly-it-will-fit-it's-a-Canon answer. Since I don't have a passel of lenses, it wouldn't be very cost effective for me to get a body and an adapter.

Man, being poor has made me into a cheap-skate!

I have a tight budget as well but it has made me think differently and I have found easy and cheap ways of doing great things.

Oh...I do have the adaptor and it WILL work, I love my old ef lenses.

maybe I'll do some more shopping; check prices on the adapter and stuff.

I'm picking up 5 rolls worth of contact sheets tomorrow, so I'm happy tonight!

oh, check ebay for the adaptor (search eos body adaptor or ef to eos adaptor)
