What I don't get is why the sports and photojournalism sections are in the same gallery
There's a connection.

Hmm, people that do those fields are mostly journalists?
Yes exactly, both are journalists

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL! I was trying to find out the connection and I thought of it myself! And anyway, I still think that these could be separate even though they have a strong connection

Less not more. Besides, it gets little action and I consolidated it into the people gallery. Sports = People.

Photojournalism doesn't necessarily = people though...

Why do I have a strong sensation that this is pure sarcasm? I know you say nothing here to indicate that, but I just feel like I know better lol.

I guess it's just your attitude toward me. It's not sarcastic at all. I have LONG advocated for MORE consolidation on TPF. This entire site has far,far too many minutely compartmentalized sub-sections. He((, I never even read the forum sub-heads; as I have stated on multiple occasions over the past two years, I read TPF via Active Topics, not by forum or sub-forum distinctions. I think getting rid of the Professional Gallery makes a lot of sense, and the FIVE indicated galleries above would be an excellent way to make the forum better overfall.
Happy now?
I agree. However, it's up to the site owners; we mods aren't going to casually start moving things around. To add to this suggestion, how about we move the Photo Gallery section in it's entirety right below the Foundations of Photography Section, above the equipment section. We need more involvement in the photo galleries!
That's an unfortunate trend, as well. Again, there is discussion and intent behind the creation of all the forums, and you may find yourselves using the forums in a different way if you weren't blindly scrolling through Active Topics. That is not a criticism, btw, since Active Topics serves its own purpose, when people are just "swinging by" TPF. It's a quick & easy way to see what's going on. I just don't think it's the best way to always view TPF.He((, I never even read the forum sub-heads; as I have stated on multiple occasions over the past two years, I read TPF via Active Topics, not by forum or sub-forum distinctions.
