Thanks for the feedback. I'll have to see how that works for me. I did consider cloning out the coat hooks and the switchplate (and still may) but I didn't crop it because I don't want it to feel too tight which I think would change the mood.

The hooks and the switch plate don't bother me as much as the lighter strip on the far right. I think cloning that or cropping it or maybe even just darkening it a bit would help.

First of all, I very much like the composition, simplicity and lightning, but imo it could do with some extra work. I removed the light switches + coat rack on the right (clone tool) and I compensated the little crop with some (curtain) extra space on the left. For me the bluish tint doesn't really make a romantic atmosphere, so just tried a modest red hue. Oh well, just my idea!

Thanks for your thoughts on this. I don't like the tighter crop as much as the original - I think it makes it too constrained - but I appreciate your differing point of view. I'm new at b&w processing so not sure I see the blue tint you're referring to. I used a preset Topaz filter to do the conversion. I don't particularly care for the red hue you've suggested but I was going for a breezy summer window and not a romantic atmosphere... I guess we all see something different when we look at any photo.

For whatever it's worth, I like the original black and white- with the distractions removed.
