As I have often stated I'm not generally a fan of B+W nature pics but this one is an exception. I think it adds to the sense of a sorrowful ending, bowed in defeat against the elements.

I can guarantee there will be a re-birth come spring. The birds and squirrels eat and scatter the sunflower seeds from my feeder and the sunflowers themselves. If they pop up one year chances are good they will pop up the next.
