Sunpak 422D on a 30D?

Can it be done? I dont just mean the mounting, but will it work properly. I noticed that there are five contacts on the 30D, but only three on my AE-1. I'm sure there are faetures I wont have, but I'm just looking to be able to have a bounce flash for my new (to me) DSLR and try to reuse as much of my film equipment as possible.

Well I tried it anyways and found out it does work. Havent used the red-eye reduction (which if I read correctly in the manual only works with the built in flash) but regular use shows that it fires when it needs to.
