Oh, that's a lot!

The first comes across as being too static with the boat right in the middle. Too bad the boat wasn't at some critical point (i.e.: the juncture of other elements, for instance) but otherwise well done.

The second is very nice. A mix of vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines is almost always a good shot. I'll even concede the sun being centered in this one.

Its funny you should state that you like the second photo more then the first. I've always liked the second photo better too. Even though most people prefer the first. Although I do like the sailboat in the first one I think it compliments the sunset... More like a painting then a photo.

You've got that natural vignetting/framing going on, which is good, but if only the boat were just over to the left a bit, sailing INTO the space of the photo, it would have been in a much better location. If you would have grabbed the shot one or two minutes earlier, the shot would be up one notch better.

You might not like this version, but this is what I was talking about:

I happen to prefer a 4x5 (8x10) crop, so this is how I would print it.

I put the boat on the lower left 1/3 point. It now has some space in front of it.

The first 2 are my favorites. I agree the first could use a crop, but that is purely a matter of taste.

First is my fav, it is obviously stunning. I agree with the edit as far as boat placement, but I prefer more rocks in the foreground.
#2 love it! Nuff said
#4 great colors but I wish for more foreground interest.
#5 I think would be my favorite if it had more room on the bottom, at least to complete that tallest palm tree in the reflection, if not more.

I really like the overall look of these. The colors are all nice and full, but still totally natural looking, and all the images together have a cohesive style, which is a hard thing for me to accomplish.
