March has been very grim around here, it has been cloudy almost every day I can remember, and still no Ospreys. As I was out scouting a spot this Swan flew really close. I actually zoomed down to 350mm to get the bird in the frame and it got so close I went for the headshot in flight. I know the purists won't like the third, but I wanted a different view...

very cool! they're all good, but I like #3 too...march has been a drag around here too, but I'm hoping to get some good shots in April during the spring migration...

CC, great shots. The swans haven't appeared in my part of the world yet - maybe in a few more weeks. As far as the third one is concerned, I am wondering how it would look if you simply gave it a close crop and showed just the head an a bit of the neck - just curious. For example, crop out the right side at about the middle of the image and then crop up from the bottom about one-third of the way up the image.
