Hi all - I hope you don't mind me posting here. I am a vision scientist and for our current project we are looking to synchronise two flashs guns. Ideally, we would not need a camera for this.

I have done some research and it looks like we could achieve this using two hotshoe adapters and a synch cable of some sorts, but I'm a bit sketchy on the details of triggering the flash. Is it possible to set them off using a remote control? It all seems possible, but as I am completely unfamiliar with names of equipment it's hard for me to find the right parts needed for this.

I have also looked into slave flashes but they only flash when there is another flash and that's not good for our experiment as we only want the two flashes, not an extra one.

Could anyone maybe advise me what the best option is in terms of how to achieve this? Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Arthur

The technology to do this with wireless remotes and no cam can be found at pocketwizards.com

THIS plus an extra THIS.
Not the most reliable equipment but it's cheap.

THIS one is probably more reliable.

The pocket wizards (mentioned above) are the industry standard, but they are rather expensive.
