Taking pics of anything

#1 and #2 are pics of a plant ornament, I have decided that you can take pics of just about anything and make a cool picture. I know the composition is off, but the subject and detail is cool.
#3 and #4 are pics of my wifes Boston Terrier, not sure what you will think about these. I thought the pics were pretty good as far as location in the framing, but not sure of the angles. Whats the word. Thanks guys.

#1 and #2 don't do anything for me. #3 and #4 (I am always a sucker for a dog pic!) would be better is you took the photos at the dog's level. Otherwise these just look like snapshots to me.
