Tamron 70-200 f2.8?

Anyone seen/used one? Is it worth the $700+ or should I save and go with something better? It says macro and Im looking for one to shoots sports indoors and outdoors. The macro only means it has a closer focus then others correct? Would still be okay to shoot say a football game? If not could someone point me to a 70-200 f2.8 lens in the same price range? ( $600-$900)

Reviews I've read said it's great for slow moving stuff but when things get moving fast, it's horrible with keeping focus. The Sigma works well, or you could try a Nikon 80-200 2.8, which is an awesome lens.

You can get the Sigma 70-200 2.8 OS for around 900 new. Awesome lens.
