Tamron lenses

Which ever lens you decide on make sure it has the built-in motor as there are older versions of both without them and won't AF on entry cameras without built-in motors.

When I came to this exact question on deciding. Was simple I may run into situations where I need the 17-28 end and not have it. Where on the long end 50-75 end I can step closer to compensate.

Been one of my main lenses for 3 years now. And a great performer!

I love my 28-75 on my D7000 (DX). It is a sweet range for me. I traded the width of 18mm for the length of 75. I hope to get a wide zoom one day but I could live without it.

I use 24-70 on D300s and 90% of the time its perfect zoom range for portraits to wide-angle shots. On rare case that I need, I do have 17-55 to which I switch and continue on.
