Some new photos at the bottom

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and photography at least in a more professional manner, I am using a canon 400D (handshot) and in this case a cheap 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 Sigma APO DG €100 lens. Any way don't be to harsh in your comments, like I said I am just a beginner..:)

Your focus and exposure seem to be pretty good....but there isn't anything that really draws me into these photos. But I definitley think you have a good eye...and with more practice and experimenting, I'm sure you will be taking some great shots =D

#1 your focus is super sharp so great job on that. I like the shot but i feel like the focus should have been on the sheep in the background. #2 is underexposed and #3 well, shots of cats ain't really my thing, doesn't do much for me, but i think the crop is too tight.

Keep shooting!

Im impressed!! Nice work. I would agree Number 2 is a tad underexposed but im a beginner aswell so my opinion isn't worth much :lmao:

Thanks for your comment,

I will take your advice on-board in my next photo shoot….

"I may be have to calibrate may screen as they look more vibrant when I look at them @ home.
(checked them @ work and they look darker)"

Thanks again Girls & guys,
Rick

I think #1 would be improved with a crop off the right side. Maybe a crop right at the edge of the horn of the sheep in the background.

I love your cat picture! its awesome!

The sheep picture is terrific I agree with Jake337 that the sheep picture would be better with a crop. Even better would be to clone out that really distracting orange ear plug.

I like the cat picture because it uses lines and textures for impact and you've pushed the eyes to the edge, breaking 'rules' of composition to make an impact. Really nice.

The ostrich is nice and sharp but the eye socket is way too dark, imo.

I kept thinking the tag in its ear was actually an orange eye.

I like number 1 a lot. The focus is sharp and the curves of the sheep is interesting. I do agree with the others that the ear tags are a bit distracting. I did a REALLY piss poor job of editing the pic and I am SURE some can do a ton better but I am not that great at Photoshop. The crop could be a bit tighter to get rid of some of the "dead space" of the second sheep without losing interest in your main subject.

Is what I did with that one.

I like the Ostrich shot as well but agree that the eye socket is too dark. I tried to fix it but I am just not good enough with that.

I love cats and the expression on his face, the placement of the eyes is good and the lines and texture compliment each other well.

Hi again,
First I really appreciate your comments, pasted out the orange ear tag...
