So purchased a used Nikon 70-200 F2.8 VRI yesterday for 1G. Thought it was a pretty good deal. Lens appeared to be in good condition. A bit of obvious wear its 5 years old and the tripod locking collar knob ?? I think thats what its called had broke off so the ring twists which I need to get fixed lol but when I checked into it was a $40 fix. So no too shabby. Took a few test shots with it and they seem good. Focus I have noticed is a bit slower than the new one but I'm sure thats par the norm and I can hear it more than the old. Not as noisy as my sigma 105 but more so than the early one. She told me it was soft in the corners at 200 but is that going to matter? Took a few test shots at 200 and F5.6 then realized I was shooting at ISO 1000 haha. Oh well just wanted to share and see if its very noticeable to any of you pros. These are SOOC and a bit hot haha.

Nice. I want one.

The alpacas sure come get one. Free your choice. Or the dog even. She's all yours.

The lens! And the d700 while i'm at it.

I sold mine for a boat load more than that, you got a screaming deal even with the minor wear. I loved that lens on the D300s...it rarely came off. I went D700 so upgraded my glass with it but from what I've read you'll only notice that corner issue if your shooting landscape with it and minor at that.

@Trever haha thanks tha'ts why I had to work hard to really persuade my husband when the deal came up. :P I have a D90 and a D700 so I think it will work nicely on both. I wouldn't use it for landscape its just too long of a focal length for me. I even find my 35 too long on my 700, but I can't actually wait to try it on a portrait session.
