Testing a Nikon d3100

Ok....I bought a nikon d3100 for $100 that had a jam issue and error screen. I fixed the jam and the camera appears to be functioning well and normal. Problem is I don't have a lens to test photo quality. I tested the shutter actions in manual mode. Ok so i am now ready to buy a lense but wondering if there is a way to test the camera without a lense?

I would rent a lens. Or take your camera body to a local camera shop.. tell them you're looking to test a lens out to see if you want to buy it (in store testing).. some will let you.. some won't. Worth a shot.

Also may want to check craigslist or local camera shops for used ones.

Go to bestbuy and pop one of theirs on and shoot. And whether you buy the lens you try or not, you'll know if the cam works and the people will give you advice on how to become an instant pro

Most (good) camera stores will let you try out a lens (Im not talking about BestBuy.. but a real camera store).
