I like to use BW or monotone when photographing people. For this shot I used natural window light and a reflector. It is probably not as good other portraits you have all seen but I like it. It has almost a theatrical appeal to me.

I like the lighting and the exposure in this.

I don't really like the plastic drink cup/straw it doesn't seem to fit with the mood of the photo IMHO. I also wish you had caught her looking up or at the camera.

Not bad, could have been stunning in a slightly different moment.

I really like this, I do agree about the plastic cup though. The photo has an elegant feel to it and the cup kind of say's fast food. I actually like that she isn't looking at the camera, her looking down creates a mood. Nicely done!

Unfortunately, we all sound like spoiled brats wanting something more.

IMO the cup helps make this shot. The model is dressed for a night on the town, and is drinking from an inexpensive cup, however the shiny, non-labled container helps set the mood and provides not only a disparity, but also textural differential.

Overall, it has very good balance, but I wish the frame was slightly more to the left.

See? Everybody wants what isn't there.
