the bend

was walking thru a trail and this bend really caught my eye.. I stood here for a good while trying to figure out how this happend.. I took this with only a point and shoot digital elph. i need to hike out and do it justice with my dSLR

The trail is probably a bit overexposed. I like the look though. Sort of reminds me of a manzanita forest. Any idea what kind of tree it is?
