Went out this morning hoping to see one of the hawks flying around. Ended up chasing this guy around town instead.

Nice. We almost hit one yesterday on the way back from the store. Flew out from a field at windshield level. He zigged. I zagged missing each other by inches

Thanks. :)

great photos ... what a wing span.. i have yet to get this close..

Thanks. A long lens helps. I shot this using a 150-600mm Tamron.

Oh thats the lens we have been discussing... about 5 lbs ..still thinking about it.. especially when i see photos like this

I've gotten a lot of great shots with, most of them hand held. It was well worth the money.

Buzzards are one of my favorites, there are plenty around here, but I usually get my best shots of them at the coast.

You've done better than me. Got a shot similar to your last. They're tough to photograph in flight. And usually soaring WAY up. Had one behind my house two summers ago. Found a dead rabbit. No lens up for the task. Now own the Tamron 150-600mm. I'll be watching....and chasing too.

oh bring those photos on........

@RowdyRay I've noticed. Been trying to get good shots of the hawks for that past year. The falcon is even worse. I'll be standing on the back patio at work with camera in hand. He'll come flying up the point only a foot or so off the ground so that I don't see him then climb up at the last moment, disappearing over the shop before I can get a shot off.

Good set and think you did well with the 150-600mm.
