Do you realise that the brightest part of the image is grey, and blown out?

Can't see no gray in any of my monitors.
And yes it's blown out ... it's direct sun.

That's what I mean, you tried to save the picture by lowering the exposure, but it only darkens the picture but doesn't bring anymore detail into the bright part, so the white blown out end up as grey.
