The coast where I live, three pics

[Compaq]

I went out driving,
seeking good light.
I ended up striving,
it never felt right.

Then I found,
the ferry quay.
Safe and sound,
I drove that way.

The sky was holey,
with yellow light.
The mood was lonely,
and it felt right.​

I'm not happy with the last one. It feels odd, tilted and out of focus. The focus point is far in the hole.

Yup, that bothered me endlessly! hehe. I totally forget to focus sometimes (LOL), and this was shot at f/4 or something I think, and I was pretty close to that light.

I like the processing on these photos. and year 1 is my favorite to. You can sharpen up that area in photoshop very easy.

vipgraphx: It seemed pretty OOF to me, so I didn't want to try and over sharpen anything. What sharpening method would you use to try and save that? Sharpen the entire image, and mask out the rest?

Compaq - create layer go to filters/others/high pass . Don't go more than 1.5%. I used 1% on your photo. Now go to layers box and select linear light for in the drop down menu. Now change opacity as you see fit merge those two layers but not all three. Either with your eraser tool erase the areas that do not need sharpening. Or create a mask and paint out the areas that do not need sharpening. You will end up with the same result. I found that just using the sharpening filter or unsharp mask does not get you as good as results as this method.
