What's new

The Coffee House

Will be a tough day for sure. Going to some favorite memory spots will be nice . In the future, you'll be be glad you did it.
We spread our sons ashes in a couple of spots that he loved. At 1, a deer came up to the trail, looked at us and dashed away. We swear it was him saying goodbye .
If you make it to Grand Teton, let me know.
That sounds like a lovely moment, Nancy. ❤️

Hi all. Firstly, my condolences to Jeff and Nancy for the losses of their sons. I can’t imagine…🙁

Did the forum change the size limit for photos to be uploaded? I used to upload 1200 pixels on the long side, but now it’s 800 on the long side🤨

The Barn Swallows returned this year, so once they settle down a bit, I'll try and get some shots of them.

We scheduled our trip out to Dana Point to say our final farewell to our son Daniel. We chartered a schooner built in 1929 called Curlew to sail out for the ceremony. We will take our time on the trip back and see some of the sights like Bryce Canyon and other places that my wife visited with Daniel a few years ago. What a roller coaster ride.
Sounds to me like you've lived alot. That's good since it's the "living" that an old Kendo sensei once told me that "hollows" you out and makes room for more experience that only deepens your understanding of our situation. Makes sense to me.

Hmm. No changes that I am aware of. Using the same browser, etc?

PS should be able to dave as jpg. You have to Export to png but jpg should be a save as.

I know I unable to upload a jpg from an iPhone 12 mini without cropping a little.

Thank you! Thinking of a line from CS Lewis in Surprised by Joy (the book, not the movie, haven't seen that), we can't experience joy if we have not experienced sorrow (or something like that). He had lost his partner Joy to cancer, and he reflected on what that meant to him.

Thank you! Yes, but sometimes that hollowing out is very painful.

Thanks for the info, snowbear, but jpg/jpeg wasn’t listed in the drop-down when I went to save it. I think I have the latest version of PS as I rent it through Flickr.
I didn't realize one could rent PS through Flickr. I have a pro account for the storage limit, and have never seen that. I export my images as jpg from LR CC, and then use the Flickr BB Code option to display on TPF.

OK - it looks like the Save As JPG is dependent on the file format you are editing. I'll explore more and make a chart. The other oddity I see is if you save to cloud, the choices don't really show up, but save to My Computer and you get them.

Try this: File -> Export -> Save for Web (Legacy). You should get choices for GIF, JPG, PNG-8, PNG-24, and WMBP.

On this day 12 yrs ago we had one of the most frightening days in my memory. We had 62 tornados in the state in one day, four of those were EF5s, the strongest rating on the scale. The destruction was catastrophic, house and buildings stripped to the ground. The fact that only 250 people died was amazing.

We watched the biggest one live on TV as it tracked 120 miles on the ground toward us. It was erie to watch each time we saw smoke & fire you knew it was someones house or business exploding. We were fortunate that it bobbled, missing us by less than 10 miles. As it passed debris began falling in our yard. Everything from insulation, pictures, receipts, checks, jewelry, cash, etc. some from people over a 100 miles away.

People came together to dig out those trapped in the rubble, ambulances were so swamped that people were being transported in cars and the backs of pickups.
